How To Avoid Internet Scams

by Amanda Roddy

Who hasn't seen ads like"BE YOUR OWN BOSS!","MAKE $1000 WEEKLY",or"ASSEMBLE PRODUCTS IN SPARE TIME FOR $$$"?Everyone needs more money and i's easy getting fooled by the hype.Get-rich-quick schemes have been around a long time and now have found a new home on the internet. The bad thing about these claims is they target vulnerable groups like mothers, the elderly, the disabled, or someone just needing extra cash.t is amazing people still fall for these gimmicks.Learning to recognize scams or possible scams is the best defense against not being a victim.

AVOID THE OLD ENVELOPE STUFFING AND CRAFT ASSEMBLY SCAMS.Assembly jobs and envelope stuffing are old stand-bys for schemers. It sound easy making money from home doing little or nothing. However, there is always a catch. No materials or information is recieved until a small registration fee is paid usually around thirty or forty dollars.Materials are envelopes and flyers for stuffing envelopes or a kit and list of companies that may hire assemblers. The assembled crafts must pass inspection which none ever do.To get paid for a stuffed envelope someone else must pay the same registration fee found on the flyer or brochure.Passing around the same scam is the only thing that is done.

BEWARE OF HOME TYPING AND MEDICAL TRANSCRIPTION JOBS.Not all typing or medical transcription jobs are gimmiks, but many are.It usually depend on how they are presented.which are usually with false claims of earning substantial income. When something reads "MAKE $2000 A WEEK TYPING!" or "PROCESS CLAIMS AT HOME!NO EXPERIENCE NEEDED!" it is most likely fraud. The truth is no one hires anyone without some prior knowledge or traing. These so-called jobs often require a fee for software and an out-dated list of companies that may hire someone.Legitimate companies would not charge a fee for information and list necessary skills.

LITERARY CONTESTS PROMISING BIG MONEY.What writer would not be enticed by "POETRY CONTEST!$50,000!"Not only are ads like that are in print but now are on the internet.Literary contests, escpecially poetry, have always been popular promising big prize money and possible publication. It is sad knowing there are crooks around who take advantage of hopeful writers. These contests accept any poetry or other works and non-winners can get published in a book for a small fee. Writers should be the ones getting paid.

OTHER SIGNS OF POSSIBLE SCAMS.Ignore ads with excessive capital letters and punctuation. That is just to get attention.Legitimate companies list important information like addresses ,phone numbers, emails, and what work is involved. Also,as mentioned before, no one should have to pay for information.Anything that promises big money in a hurry doesn't need to be taken seriously. There is no such thing as instant riches. There are ways to make money online but it doese not come easy just like other businesses.Any business takes work, committment, and some financial risk. Unfortunately, scammers can be convincing otherwise. When in doubt remember the old saying if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
