Time Management for Entrepreneurs - Manage Your Time to Increase Your Bottom Line
Learning how to manage your time will change your life dramatically. If you feel rushed each day to complete your tasks, exhausted by the early afternoon, and have an overall feeling of not completing much of what you set out to do each day, time management is the way to change everything in a positive way. As an entrepreneur, this is crucial to your success.
We all have the same twenty-four hours each day; it's how we use them that can make all the difference. I will explain some principles here, including the ideas of time awareness, 'prime time' hours, and delegation. These three principles will help you to regain control of your life and achieve everything you are setting out to do, no matter what your background or level of expertise in your chosen field.
In order to manage our time, we must first be aware of where the hours are going each day before we can make any changes. Write down what you are doing each waking hour for three full days. Make sure one of the days is a full work day for you and another is a day away from work so that you can get a more accurate reading. You already have a feel for where your time is going, but writing it down is a powerful way to see what needs to change. When I first did this several years ago it turned out I was spending about fifteen hours each week watching television shows. I quickly cut that down to only five hours a week, and increased my exercising by another five hours. That left fine hours that I could devote to building my business.
'Prime time' hours refer to the hours when you are at your best. My best time is in the morning, from about seven to eleven. During this time I do the majority of my writing, my product creation, and working in my online business. I can be so productive during this four hour period that I will accomplishment more than many people might spend in eight hours. You know when you are at your best, so think of this as your 'prime time'.
Delegation did not come easily to me. I was used to doing everything myself, and believed that if you wanted something done right you pretty much had to do it yourself. This simply isn't true. Finding the right people to help you in your personal and business life will increase your productivity tenfold.
Learn how to manage your time and the world becomes more joyful, you have time to smell the flowers, and you will most certainly increase your bottom line.
