Putting Personality Into Your Business
It isn’t always just about the service.
When I go into a store I expect the service to be good. I’m not always right about that, but I still expect to get good service. After all, that’s the least the store can do. If they aren’t willing to even give me good service than what reason do I have to ever come in again?
The point is that simply having good service isn’t always going to be enough to really get people excited about your company. You’ll give them what they’re expecting to get, sure, but what you really want to do is surprise them. Make sure that when they’re done talking with you they’re looking forward to the next time they’ll get to buy from you again.
The way you accomplish this is by infusing some personality into your company. While any company can take advantage of the more personal approach, the smaller your business is, the better the odds you’ll be able to connect with your customers on that more personal level.
If you print greeting cards you can have a very effective way of starting off the whole meeting on the right foot. Make sure you always print greeting cards to have in your office and ready for when people walk in. Let them know that you’re willing to spend the time and money to offer them a nice greeting.
The extra touch here, however, is getting custom greeting cards. This is where you can get a lot more personalized with the whole experience. Don’t settle for just a simple, “Welcome,” when you can add a unique kind of flare and personality to your greeting cards.
Whatever industry you’re in, make sure your custom greeting cards properly reflect the mood and mindset that people are looking for. Of course, to make them really work you’re going to have to stop and ask yourself what will interest people the most. This might be something like a famous quote or a specific reference that they’ll appreciate. The more thought you put into it the better the end product will be and the more impressed people will be by the effort you put.
After you’re done talking with them you also want to make sure you have a great business card to hand to them. Just like with the greeting cards, go above the standard business card printing and get something a little more unique. You’ll do a better job at helping them connect with you if you hand them something interesting. Put your own unique personality into the cards. You want someone to feel as if they’re getting a look into who you are when they finish looking at your business card.
Customer service isn’t the same as getting to know the person I’m going to be doing business with. The more personalized the whole experience is the better I’m going to feel about them. Most people are going to pay for something like business card printing anyways, so make sure that what you get is a good reflection of you as a person.
If I walk away feeling as if I understood who I’m doing business with, I’m not only going to be a lot happier, but a lot more likely to come in and do business with them again.
