There are, primarily, two ways through which traffic can be brought to a given one website. A popular and well-known way is bringing traffic organically to the website through search-engines. In a broader perspective, any visitor that is brought to the website naturally following a link on the search-engine SERP's online results section or a link shared on any social media or social networking website would be considered organic traffic. On the other hand, the other way to bring traffic to a website is by getting traffic from sponsored results on SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) or through paid links presented on websites. The question of how the website is getting traffic becomes important as it defines the amount being spent to get traffic and thus, has a great impact on the ROI. Paid traffic can only come until the time the investment is being made while the investment made to get organic traffic would last long term and the visitors would continue to flock in regardless of whether cash is being spent on bringing traffic every day or not.

So, overall, as far as the organic traffic Vs paid traffic battle is concerned, there is no clear winner. Both methods have their pros and cons. However, it is evident that paid traffic brings quick rewards while organic traffic requires a lot of hard work and patience but has the potential to bring in visitors continuously for a long time period thus, increasing the ROI in the long term. Therefore, a balance between efforts to get organic traffic and getting paid traffic should prove to be the best strategy to up the ROI drastically.
