Every home should have a few basic pieces of furniture that make it comfortable. Read on to see which you have already and which you should think about buying.
1. Lounge Sofas: The average living room has a couple of lounge sofas and a coffee table, with some end tables nearby. But without lounge sofas, such as Lafer recliners, there's nowhere to sit. These are the foundation of any good seating area.

6. Coat Rack: If you don't have an entry closet, a coat rack can be very valuable. It's also a good place to store hats, which can be a welcome decorative addition to your foyer.
7. Desk: You can work at the kitchen table or you can have a distinct and separate place for work. A solid wooden desk will hold your computer and allow you to organize your paperwork.
8. Knoll Chairs: With a desk you must have a desk chair. But don't choose any ordinary one, instead invest in knoll chairs. They're more comfortable and although more expensive, you will have your knoll chairs forever.
9. Entertainment Centers: These are especially handy if you have a TV, DVDs, stereo and CDs. Since they are usually large they make for good areas to store pictures, books and other bric-a-brac.
10. Coffee Table: Coming full circle, it is important for a fine living room to have a nice coffee table. If you have a small space, think about enhancing it with a transparent table.
