Magnificent beaches are just one of the many attractions in Weston Super Mare. This place has a lot of things to offer, not to mention the many experiences that you'll have along the Marine Parade and the shopping area located nearby. The great Weston Super Mare experience doesn't start and just end on the beach. Golf, kart racing, paintball, cycling and kite surfing are just a few activities that the town can offer. Things to Do in Weston Super Mare

1. You can have pottery painting with your family. This is perhaps one of the best things to do if you are traveling with your family. This is a good idea during the raining days and to make it even better, the activity does not cost a lot. There is even a possibility that you can bring with you your pottery item if the time is right.

2. It was in 1903 when the construction of the Grand Pier started and it took a year to finish the structure. It took about 600 pieces of iron piles to help up the pier with an area that sums up to about 400 meters in length. Considered as a really nice old pier, it is a place where families can do a lot of things. By the entrance of the pier, your kids can already start enjoying the different amusement arcades available. The list includes fruit machines, video games and prize bingo. If you are not much into the arcade games, you can enjoy the different shops available. Their list of products includes candyfloss, hotdogs, donuts, and ice cream and seaside souvenirs. At the end portion of the pier, your kids can enjoy more arcade games while you indulge yourself with the food stalls. The Grand Pier also provides a wide variety of fairground rides like bumper cars.

3. While visiting Weston Supre Mare, you have to make it a point to visit Brean Sands and all the other leisure parks in the area. Brean Sands is a magnificent sweep of sands that stretches from the Burnham-on-Sea's seaside resort. It goes through the holiday villages of Brean Sands and Berrow towards Brean Down's National Trust headland. Due to the wide variety of campsites and holiday parks in the area, this area became a favourite destination of holiday makers. The area provides different types of facilities such as fishing lakes, entertainment complex, golf courses and swimming pools.

4. The Carnival of Light is an annual event that usually takes place every November. Everything in this carnival is based on lights, making it different from all the other carnivals. Floats with thousands of light bulbs will be patrolling the streets, lighting and heating it up. The dancing people, the music and the atmosphere really invite a lot of holiday makers. This an event that lasts for 2 hours wherein people would line up the streets to formally close the season.

5. While you are in Weston Super Mare, you should also visit the North Somerset Museum. This museum houses exhibits that go all the way back to the old Victorian seaside amusements. It also includes great finds from the history of Somerset. You can have one of the fortune tellers tell your future or you can also play with one of the machines while you are inside the museum.

6. You should also visit the Winter Garden, a place when a variety of events took place. With a history that started more than 85 years ago, this venue hosted a few spectacular events like the memorial service for Jill Dando, the luncheon visit by Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth. The Ballroom also became a part of a movie when a scene from "The Remains of the Day" was shot there.

7. If you are a show lover, you should visit the Playhouse while you are in the area. This place seats up to 664 people and has been a part of the area's great heritage. Re-opened in the year 1969, this area is now a venue for different shows such as ballet, opera, panto and comedy.
