Why You Should Be A Scientist
A job for life…
Science can be a confusing subject at school because there are answers, but no real fully definite answers. The speed of light as worked out by Albert Einstein himself has been questioned recently proving that even the most fundamental elements of science and the world are not set.

However this is one of the many reasons why working as a scientist is such a good idea. There is no conclusion and there are always questions and research to be answered and carried out.

The Money

Before we go any further, the big questions many people have at the back of their minds is "how much can I get paid"? Well beginning junior research lab assistants will be on a fairly low wage, but top scientists doing incredible research on new drugs or cancer treatments or even the Large Hadron Collider will be getting huge salaries as big companies back them to find out solutions to some of the biggest problems.

Interesting and Exciting

For many scientists with inquisitive minds who love nothing more than to find out the big breakthroughs of the universe, it is the fascination for what they do that really drives them forward in their career. You can work on almost any area of life science and find an untapped avenue of adventure that will have you excited to go into work every day.

Always Changing

There is no ending to it too because science is an ever changing and evolving subject that always has new questions to be answered and things to explore. You know that even if they worked out the meaning of life and how love works and where aliens are hiding, there would probably be even more research being done than ever as answers lead to just more and more questions.

Many Jobs

You can work in pretty much any sector too. Every area of human life imaginable can be scientifically research in order to make improvements; from medicine and engineering to psychology and farming. This means that there is an endless array of jobs to choose from. Plus you can often switch between sectors as you like because the basic elements of science are transferable.

No One Understands

Perhaps the best thing of all is that no one will really understand what you do. When you say you're a lawyer or an accountant, people feel like they know lots about you, but science is mysterious and will always be more interesting.

What sort of scientist do you want to be?
