She recalls”…a groups of five to seven year old boys wearing rags for clothes and racing along our compound’s drive way with a toy truck made of tin cans from my trash. They had spent the greater part of a morning engineering the toy-and were squealing with delight as they pushed it with a stick. My sons, with Matchbox trucks parked under their beds, looked on with envy.”Because the Matchbox truck isn’t better than the tin truck. The brand new car isn’t better than the second-hand car. Yes. We do need the basics of life: basic food, basic housing, and basic clothing. No one argues that a starving beggar on the street isn’t happy.But once basic needs are met, wealth gives diminishing returns of pleasure.Your second million pesos won’t taste as good as your first million. Why? Because once we’re physically comfortable, our souls start manifesting hunger pangs. We start longing for Heaven. Here is a powerful spiritual principle: Everything in your life is negotiable with God.Your wealth. Your health. Your security. There’s only one thing that’s non-negotiable to Him: your soul. That means the Lord will take away your wealth, your health, your security-if that is the only way to bless your soul.But if blessing you with wealth, health, and security will bless your soul, then He will do that. I’ve experienced the financial blessings of God in my life. They’re for real! BUT THEY’RE NOT His priority. His priority is that you will live forever. Make that your priority as well.I believe that every day I’m surrounded with the blessings of God.You and I are swimming in a sea of blessings, and we don’t know it!Every day, I live with this core belief: I’ll receive abundant blessings from God today. Because I’m convinced that God is a blesser. Twenty four hours a day, He thinks of ways to bless me.Imagine how that core belief shapes the kind of day I’ll have! I may actually have more problems than a person next to me, but that belief alone can change the way I look at those problems.That’s how powerful belief are!Sometimes though, our beliefs are dead wrong. But they are powerful nonetheless, and they can prevent God’s blessings from flowing into our lives.That’s why I call these wrong beliefs Giants. And giants will always block your way towards the Promise land. Another kind of Giant is the wrong motives we have for earning money.If you earn with wrong motives, you work with stress, you act with disquiet and chaos. Oh yes, you may succeed. But at what price? Because selfishness is not a great friend. It’ll eat you up and destroy you inch by inch, cell by cell.Saturate your mind with the right motives for earning money. Let these be the fuel that drives every business decision, the driving force behind money-making project.This is what happens when you know that you’re earning money for the right motives: You’re at peace with yourself, you’re in synch with the universe, you’re moving under the power of God.Defeat the Giants.
