Print Money Legally

Grow your business using alternative currencies.

Gift Certificates, Scrip and Due Bills If you are an owner of a service business, gift certificates are an excellent way to save cash and the best part is, you can print them yourself. Simply by ordering payroll checks without account numbers, you can fill in the value and imprint them on your computer. The safety paper on which payroll checks usually are printed is hard to copy, discouraging counterfeiting. Or, you can use Publisher software to make your gift certificates, numbering each one and keeping a logbook to validate their authenticity as they are issued.

Gift certificates can be used in many ways.

1.Make a habit of offering gift certificates to every customer as you complete their transaction. Customers like to buy them to give as gifts or to trade with their clients.

2.Trade your company’s gift certificates for products and services you need. Ask your vender if you can pay with your gift certificates, saving your cash.

3.30 to 50% of the gift certificates you sell will get lost or not be redeemed. This means extra cash in your pocket. Don’t be confused by the different names used for gift certificates. Department stores do call them gift certificates, however, restaurants call them scrip and media, and printers call them due bills.

Scrip works much the same as gift certificates. The purchaser of scrip certificates usually intends to use them for their personal expenditures. No change is given and gratuities always should be paid in cash. A due bill is basically an IOU. To make a due bill, the company provides a letter on their letterhead stating the value for the service or product. These letters are traded the same as any currency. We normally see due bills in larger amounts, such as $10,000 to $25,000.

Due bills are used as a way to generate trade credits faster. The advantage of using a due bill is building immediate trade credits without having to wait for someone to come to you to purchase your goods or services. The letter you print out is used to purchase goods or services you need. The recipient uses your letter at a later date for payment of services you provide.

Like gift certificates and scrip, the added value of due bills is breakage, in other words, they get lost. The disadvantage to someone accepting a due bill is the risk the originator will not be in business when the time comes to redeem it.

Purchase due bills only if you have checked with the originator to make sure it is valid, and only if you intend to use it immediately. Don't buy them to hold. Save your cash. Barter is smarter! To learn more about saving cash see www.savecashtoday.com
