Yeast Intolerance - Are You In Danger?

by Erik Parson

Yeast intolerance happens when the yeast usually seen in the digestive system begins to grow excessively. Normally the amount of candida found in our system are controlled by the good bacteria in our intestinal tract. When these beneficial bacteria are killed off, through change in diet or illness, yeast can begin to grow excessively leading to a wide variety of symptoms and health issues.

This type of illiness is often referred to as a yeast infection. It occurs when candida, a type of yeast like fungi, grows excessively and leads to infection (normally found in damp areas of the body like the mouth, digestive tract or vagina.).

This can lead to someone who suffers from a yeast intolerance to have such issues as bloating, abdominal pain, itchiness, gas, headache, constipation, diarrhea, mouth sores, coated or furry tongue, soreness and if left untreated more severe symptoms such as autoinmune diseases.

One of the causes of an intolerance to yeast are antibiotics. Sometimes when one is sick and uses medicine to fight off infection it can also destroy the beneficial bacteria that help to regulate the amount of candida in our intestines. This can lead to yeast overgrowth which in turn can cause further symptoms.

Another primary cause of yeast intolerance is poor nutrition. When one lacks the nutrients essential one needs there immune system becomes weak. A diet that is full of sugar is one of the main sources of yeast overgrowth. Thecause for this being is that candida lives on sugar, it's actually its primary food source. The more sugar there is in one's diet the more candida can feed and grow out of control.

Other foods to avoid if you think you are intolerant to yeast include breads, foods that have been fermented like alcohol, and moldy food like cheese.

Some of the ways one can treat yeast intolerance symptoms include using medication. For example, Nyastin is a anti fungal drug a doctor may give someone in order to rid the yeast overgrowth in one's system.

Good diet is another excellent treatment in fighting candida overgrowth. Following a candida free diet that rids the above mentioned food will help to starve off the candida overgrowth leading to a great deal of candida die off and better health. This process usually takes between 4 to 8 weeks. Be forewarned the first couple of weeks you may feel worse due to the release of toxins into your bloodstream from the yeast die off. Don't worry once these toxins have been flushed from your system you'll feel like new.

Yeast infection can really take the joy out of life. It can be horrible and downright painful at times. By doing a few of the aforementioned steps you'll be on the path to a better life in no time.

One last piece of advice.. You need to visit a doctor before starting any means of treatment for yeast intolerance. They'll be able to get you on a plan that makes sense for you!

Best of luck and here's to a healthier tomorrow!
