Easy tips you can use right away!

While some people love to decorate, others cringe at the thought, especially when it comes to decorating for a baby shower! If you have five minutes to do an internet search, you can find some adorable free ideas for baby shower decorations. Decorating is important because it creates the initial atmosphere for your party. Every host loves when their guests arrive and start raving about the decoration ideas that you used to plan the baby shower.

There are many easy, fun ideas that you can use throughout your party area. You can start by using empty baby food jars as a votive for candles. Place them around the room, in the powder room, in the kitchen. Candlelight is always warm and inviting, and the baby food jar votive will bring a smile to your guests’ faces. Make a clothesline that hangs across the main party room. Pin diapers, onesies, wash cloths and other useful baby items onto the clothesline and then at the end of the party, allow the mother to be to take them all home with her.

Balloons are always an easy decoration and add color to the room. Instead of tying them to chairs, weigh them down with baby shampoo, baby bottles or other baby supplies. These items can also go home with the new mother.

There are many fun ways to decorate the food table. You can buy a baby bathtub, fill it with small blue balloons (for the bubble effect), and put some rubber duckies inside. This is a cute center piece and also a useful gift for the guest of honor. Another popular centerpiece is a diaper cake. You can find easy directions online explaining how to make these cakes or they are also available for purchase from various online vendors.

Fill small baby bottles with pastel colored candies and tape cute place cards on them for each of your guests. You can also use baby bottles as vases. Fill them with dainty flowers and place them throughout the room. For a napkin holder, use a pacifier. Use new cloth diapers as placemats. All of these clever ideas will be great conversation starters for your guests and will be an added surprise gift for the celebrated mother to be. Whatever you do while decorating, make it fun, not only for yourself, but also for your guests!
