How To Make Your Home A Green Home
Environmental tips for your homeā¦
With utility prices going up and up, house prices sitting stagnant and with our carbon footprints being scrutinised by every neighbour and their dog, making your home as green as possible should seem like an obviously great idea.

Going green will not only make your house a more environmentally friendly place to stay, it will also save you money in the long run and give you a glow of pride thanks to the feeling you get from helping to make the planet a better place for your fellow man.

So how do you make your home green?

Get Proper Insulation

One of the first things you need to do to make your home greener is to get your home insulated. This will save you money on your utility bills as you will have to use less gas or electricity to heat your home and your supplier will have to produce less meaning that less fossil fuel is burnt to produce them. There are many companies who will fit insulation for you that will be either be blown into wall cavities as a sort of mulch or if you go for a traditional style of insulation they will need to open up your walls and place it inside.

Recycle

Set up a recycling place in your home where you can sort your cans and paper etc. into separate containers ready to drop off at a recycling centre. This saves trees and energy being wasted to produce new products. You don't even need to be that fussy with your recycling either, as many recycling centres will sort your waste, remove and food left over and crush you cans for you.

Reuse

Before you thrown everything in the recycling bin though, try to work out what food you can still use and what paper and furniture items you can send to charity shops or reuse in some other way. Even recycling plants use a considerable amount of energy that you can save by not sending more than you need to their way. Reuse first and then recycle and only buy what you need and no more.

Solar and Wind Power

Another way to make your home greener is to use solar panels and wind turbines fitted to your roof, to source much of your home's electricity. This combined with modern wall lights and modern ceiling lights that use energy efficient bulbs at their heart will make spending on electricity and lighting minimal for a considerable period of time.

Follow these tips and your home will be a whole lot greener.
