Dance All Day Long By Throwing A Fun Dancing Party For Children Of All Ages

by Gail Leino

Most kids will find a Dance theme party to be a lot of fun and a very active event. Include a variety of fun and simple dances that will keep children on their feet all party long.

Dance Theme Party Invitations Let the party guests know that they will need to bring their dancing shoes to the dancing theme party. Create fun dancing invitations with bright colors with a dancer silhouette. Additionally, the guests should be told about the different types of dances that will be occuring during the dance theme party.

Dancing Theme Party Supplies and Decorations Decorate the party area with plenty of festive party supplies and decorations such as balloons, streamers, confetti, and banners. Hang posters and printed images of various dances from the United States and around the world from African dances to country line dances. Add hanging decorations such as streamers, lanterns, balloons, fringe table skirts, and strobe lights. Hang a disco ball in the center of the dance area.

60s Party Dances Give the Dance party guests short lessons on dances from the 60s era so they can dance the night away and enjoy the theme of the party.

The Monkey. When music begins knees bounce in time with the music causing the upper body to go up and down. Arms reach out in front with closed fists and thumbs up. Dancer raises R hand and then L hand as if climbing tree, to the beat of the music.

The Twist: This dance was very popular and had the guests moving their hips and twisting to the beat of the music. Feet will automatically twist too. Dancer should put weight on balls of feet and twist feet along with hips. Arms are slightly bent and swing in time with music. Twist high, medium or low. Other 60's dances include: The Mashed Potato,The Jerk,The Hitchhiker,The Swim

Some great 70s dances include dances such as The Hustle, YMCA and the Funky Chicken Look up 70s fashions to wear at a seventies theme dance party.

Famouse 80s dances include dances such as, The Running Man, Jackson moves and The Cabbage Patch. Dress to impress with eighties theme clothes.

There are many more dances to choose from such as folk music, country dancing, Latin dances, Indian dances and so forth. Spend several minutes teaching the party guests the proper steps to the music. Give the guests a variety of music and dances to choose from and then encourage them to try other dances they are not so familiar with to add to the party fun. Dancing is one way to open the doors to new and interesting cultures children may take a liking too.
