Add Archive Comment Rapidly

Comment can make our management of WinRAR files more easily, we can also add Serial number as the comment of software, so that we don't need another file to keep serial number. But to add archive comment , we need first open the RAR file and click the button…It’s so boring to do that, we can make the adding of comment more rappidly by right menu.

Click Start menu and select "Run", enter "Regedit" to open the registry editor. Navigate to "KEY_CLASSES_ROOT/WinRAR/shell", right click the shell menu and select New -> Key to create a new Kew under shell item, named it "Add Comment".

Now right click on the new key and select New -> Key to create a "subkey" of the key we just created, rename this subkey "command" . Double click on the "Default" item in the right hand window , this brings up an Edit window which is used to set the default value. Enter ""C:Program Files/WinRAR/Winrar.exe" c "%1"" in the window (not include the double quotation marks outside), note that "C:Program FilesWinRARWinrar.exe" is the menu of WinRAR in my computer, you must change it to yours.

Then navigate to "KEY_CLASSES_ROOT/ WinRAR.ZIP/shell" and create a new key like above shown and change the default value as before.

Now right click the RAR or ZIP file, you can see the "Add Comment" item , click it will bring up the Comment Add window.

Note: The code "c" of the default value we entered means comment.

That's very simple, we just need put a small code in the first line at the top of our comment archive. The code, transforms our comment in one image coloring the text and the background, then if we want copy the comment, it is not possible.

The key of adding these code is the first code must be " ", the ASCII code of it is 27, and the control character of it is "ESC". To enter the "ESC", follow the steps. Open command prompt and enter "copy con %temp%esc.txt", press Enter key, then hold Alt and enter "27", release Alt and press "Ctrl+Z", press Enter. And then enter "type %temp%esc.txt", this character appears. You can copy it to clipboard and use it later.

Then you can use code to control the color of background and font, for example: [0;1;37;41m means white text, black background and red for the part of text.
