Bulgarian Property News

Bulgarian property in the Bansko region is set to gain value as the town''s mayor announces an imminent 20 per cent rise in land values.

A square mile of Bansko property currently costs €200 (£134).

Mayor Alexander Kravarov has told Darik News that Bansko''s administration has granted 300 permits for 2005-06 to developers eager to get involved in the region''s high-potential property market.

Bansko is an extremely popular resort for skiing and other winter sports and has been titled Bulgaria''s Val d''Isere.

It boasts 65 km of ski run, with 17 separate runs including one black.

Apres-ski is covered with an impressive 150 bars servicing Bansko''s static population of 10,000.

Properties in Bansko around the main gondola lift pick-up point are particularly popular.

Against the picturesque backdrop of the Pirin Mountains, Bansko, which nestles in the foothills, also possesses a rich history and offers the culture-hungry tourist fine frescoes in the Saint Trinity church and the homes of 18th century merchants on show.
