Much more Guidance Available To Boost Our Environment With The Green Deal

Global warming and acid rain are but two of the destructive side effects we are presently observing as the result of pollution. It would be splendid if we could reside on this great planet without destroying it in the process. Envision wandering around a city centre and inhale clean air that contains no poisonous toxins caused by our pollution, wouldn't it be great? The thing is, this is no longer possible; we humans have ensured that with the pollution we've created we'll be breathing in airborne poisons, which can impair our habitat and ultimately our health.

Our immense oceans, which make up most of the earth's surface, are being poisoned by pollutants, mainly toxins and oil, which have a devastating effect on the life found in the ocean and as a result of that it affects us. Fishing used to provide many people with an income, but pollution is quickly putting paid to those livelihoods. Fishing has provided for the nutrition and the well-being of so many communities for so long, that it almost seems impossible that today we are observing its demise. Anyone wanting to be persuaded of how damaging oil spills are, need look no further than the recent Deepwater Horizon catastrophe, which cost billions to eventually fix and left many unemployed. A great deal of wildlife died in that event, not merely fish but birds as well, influencing the whole eco system which can cause no end of problems in the food chain. All of this just to obtain oil, a shameful instance of humans putting themselves before other creatures and the planet.

As the earth's known oil reserves creep toward exhaustion, billions are pumped into exploration for new fields, money which could be used to expand and develop green energy production. Green energy has absolutely no harmful influence on the environment and can still furnish a lot of energy for people. Take solar panels for example, they will work great in sunlit locations and they can produce electricity as well as heat up water. Another green energy source is wind turbines, that turn energy contained in wind to electricity. So long as the wind blows - and a number of turbines work well at low wind speeds - a wind turbine will work, which is a neat advantage. The pursuit of green energy alternatives is becoming progressively more important as we near the end of our oil reserves, not to mention the harm oil does to the environment. You never know, possibly the devastation of pollution and global warming could not just be stopped, but possibly reversed.

It is us that are going to benefit in the short term and future generations will benefit in the long term. We don't wish our children to grow up in a world that has erratic weather and dreadful conditions; we want them to grow up in a beautiful world where they can be proud of the planet and all it has to offer. This will never be achievable unless we get started living green and helping the environment.

It will take time, money and a huge amount of endeavour to try and limit the damage of our actions on the environment, but it will be worth it.
