Affordable Resort Vacations

by Tim Horner

Ever thought of taking your family to a fine resort for a vacation, but it was financially out of reach? There are companies that offer deep discounts on resort vacations exclusively to their members. These companies make agreements with resorts for lodging accommodations and pass those savings onto their members.

It can be hard to take a decent vacation when your children get older and it's no longer comfortable for everyone to sleep in the same hotel room, with one room, two queen size beds, and no kitchen. But who can afford to get two hotel rooms when you go on vacation? One for you and your wife and the other for the kids?

There are opportunities out there to become a member in a program that purchase accommodations at resorts worldwide. There are one time upfront fees to receive lifetime memberships for the best programs, but the money you save on your vacation lodging will quickly pay for the membership. Some of the lodging you can get for as low as $300 total (not per person) for a 7 night stay. They have access to resorts worldwide in some very exciting places. You can find great deals on lodging if you are going to Disneyland or other theme parks. If you are taking a ski vacation you can find bargains in great ski areas, like Lake Tahoe, Utah, or Switzerland, and outstanding values on places in Hawaii.

The travel business is one of the largest industries in the world. Everyone likes to take great vacations. But keeping the costs down for the average family is getting very difficult. One option many people have used in the past is buying into a time share program. Usually you buy a certain week at a vacation condo, and you go there each year during that week. You do have the initial cost of buying into the program, and then you have yearly dues. But you can deed your ownership of your time share to someone else, or give it to your children. Sometimes you can trade your week so you can have a different week, or go to a different place within their system.

Motor homes are another way people take vacations. You have a large initial cost but you are free to go where you want as long as there are campgrounds and accommodations in the area you are headed. You will have maintenance, fuel, insurance and campground fees. But your schedule can be very loose. You can keep your motor home stocked up and ready to roll at a moments notice. You can usually find RV campgrounds near most resort areas.

Pitching a tent or backpacking can be a very economical vacation but sometimes hard to get everyone geared up with the right equipment. You can definitely get way back off the beaten path this way and see some great places. But you can also take day hikes to get into the back woods if you are staying at a resort.

There are many ways to help keep the costs down when taking a vacation. If you take some time, and do some research you will find the best fit for you.
