Kargil - Kaleidoscopic View to Tourists

Situated at an altitude of 2,704 m Kargil offers a kaleidoscopic view to the tourists. It is the second largest urban center of Ladakh and the place was used as a gateway for caravans of carpets, silk, poppy, tea and others. Two prime imambaras are Trespone and Sankhoo which are well visited for its exclusive structure followed by Turkish style. The places were considered as the home of the ‘Aghas’ in the past days. Wakha Rgya is an another scenic place located in the Wakha Valley. It offers the eye soothing view of terrace gardening of variety of vegetables and many cereals. Blooming apricots are one the major attractions of Kargil which can be experienced in the month of May.
