LPN is abbreviated as Licensed Practical Nurse and they play an important role in health care system. They perform various works such as taking vital signs, observing patients, giving injections, administering medication, dressing wounds, and performing diagnostic tests. Normally, LPN’s will work under the supervision of the physicians, registered nurses and dentists. They should perform physical activities which are necessary. They should monitor the patient and inform the status of them to the physician. They should provide bed care for patients. Duties of the LPN’s are very simple and above all people should have much patience while dealing with patients. Licensed practical nurses generally have a great deal with the patient. Some of them will also assist medication to the patients which are indicated by the healthcare provider. They require a specialized knowledge in taking care of patient. Nursing can be a stressful career but a successful LPN will participate in the appropriate stress relievers. They need lot of patience, compassion to provide high and qualitative care towards patients.
