3 Types Of Pilots
Since our very youngest we've looked up the skies and imagined how wonderful it would be to fly. Of course, with the help of technology that's very much something we can do, with the only question being what we would like to learn to fly. Here are a few suggestions.
Helicopter Pilots
Learning to fly a helicopter is becoming increasingly popular as a hobby amongst certain types of celebrity, however, when it is your job you need to pass incredibly strict exams in order to be able to fly in all manner of situations.
The army employs many helicopter pilots, and this is hardly surprising because soldiers often need to be dropped in and out of tight angles and situations and only a helicopter can do the task. Helicopters also play a large part in ferrying staff to and from oilrigs as these platforms don't have the luxury of airstrips and need something that can land on the much smaller landing pads. Of course, mountain rescue employ a lot of helicopter pilots as well as once again the manoeuvrability of the machine is highly important for their activities.
Hot Air Balloon Pilots
When we think of pilots it's rare that those that spring to mind are the ones that fly this particular craft. However, of the three types of pilots profiled today, those that fly hot air balloons have been around by far the longest as their machines were invented hundreds of years before the other two.
These days hot air balloon pilots are generally employed by companies that either provide flights for tourists or by those that train other pilots. Going in a hot air balloon is a fun experience and is partly down to people being able to fly them.
Aeroplane
Aeroplane pilots fly all over the world in a huge variety of different manners. Again the army employs fighter pilots who either bomb locations or protect the bombers, or they have pilots who fly in medical aid and the like.
Away from the army, however, and the most common type of pilot you are likely to encounter is one that flies commercial aircraft. It's an incredibly skilled job that has been aided with the advent of new technologies, however, it is one that many people aspire to do and the training is far from cheap.
So there you have it: three of the most common types of pilot. Which one will fly you next?
