Article Submission and Google

Raise your sales by increasing targeted traffic.

by Elise Fisher

Those who promote websites know that there's more to creating a profitable website than merely purchasing one and making it look beautiful. You can pay out oodles of money buying the perfect domain name and creating the most attractive website, and still be eternally waiting for traffic to arrive. You're not going to get it. Promoting your website is an essential ingredient in a successful website plan. If don't get traffic, your site is basically worthless. You might as well put up a beautiful billboard out in the middle of the Sahara Desert!

There are many ways to promote a website and attain higher rankings on the search engines: blogs, reciprocal links (although, within the past year or two, Google has been looking down on reciprocal links), optimization, affiliate programs, feeder sites, etc., etc. Yet, Google's very first guideline for beginning websites is to "have other relevant sites link to yours." A particularly effective way to achieve this is submitting your article to multiple article directories- like this one! This is important because when you submit informational articles to several high PageRank article directories you generate loads of strategically valuable inbound links. Thus, you:

1. Make your link reputation stronger

2. Increase your website's traffic

3. Improve the Pagerank of the webpages on your site

In addition to that, you can also add these articles to your site, which proves to Google that your site is growing and changing. Google loves this. PLUS the articles will add tremendous content and in the online world "content is king."

The more articles you have published throughout the Internet that link back to your website, the greater the amount of traffic your website will obtain over time. However, one significant dilemma that a lot of people run into when submitting articles to several article directories is that Google penalizes them. Google now has "the Duplication Penalty." When Google feels that there are too many pages with duplicated content it will disregard many of them. If you post the same article all over the Internet, Google will see this and penalize you for it.

The bright side of this is that there is a solution! The duplication penalty problem can be completely solved by rewriting the article several times so that it appears to Google to be a completely different article. Simply change the title, subtitle, resource box, rework the content and voila! You have an incredible tool for promoting your website!

Keep in mind that your articles need to be informational, good quality articles.
