Most people understand that they need to have a website in order to run their business effectively. The world is now a place that interacts online. Although many people in the work place are not a 100% up to speed with the internet, and how the online environment effects them, they do understand the internets role and how it effects their business. Although most companies have a website, many of these are not constructed effectively in order to have a significant online effect on their business.
A website is the basic building foundation of a companys online strategy. One can think of a website as the building block or the engine that drives your companys online strategy. With out a website, your business does not exist on the internet. If your website is created and built effectively it will enable your business to have a good start in its online objectives. Many people think that a good website is all about looks. If the website looks good, it must be good. Also there is the perception that prospective clients will come to your website just cause it looks good. There is nothing further from the truth! I will use an analogy to explain what I mean here: Think of your website as a shop. You could have the best shop in the world, with the best prices, best products with the best service. But your shop is situated in the bush, where no one can find it. Do you think that you would sell anyting in your shop? The answer is quiet simple.. no you will not. That is because people do not know that you exist! The same is true for your website. There are millions of websites out there, how do prospective clients find your website, before clicking on to your competitors website?
The answer is online marketing. Online marketing is the strategies deployed in order to ensure that your website ranks highly, or in eye catching places on the internet. This way every time someone searches the internet, your website will be found, and thus give you the opportunity to sell your product. There are literally millions of people online everyday. These users are often searching for products or services to buy online. Make sure your website is represented in the online environment. The results may surprise you!
