Fun Birthday Party Ideas

by William Jason

Birthday parties can be a lot of fun for kids. However, after some time of doing the same routine, kids will eventually get bored! There are some elements of a birthday party that you can't avoid like singing "Happy Birthday" and cutting a cake. However, there are things you can do to make the actual celebration fun and exciting each time.

Here are three simple, yet exciting ideas for your child's next birthday party. They're definitely unconventional, but what makes them great is the fact that the kids will be doing activities they enjoy thoroughly!

1. Take a camping trip. Kids both young and old really enjoy the outdoors! That's exactly why you could consider planning a birthday camping trip for your child's next birthday. Allow them to invite a few of their closest friends and ask them to take along their sleeping bags. You can then plan fun outdoor activities like telling ghost stories around a campfire or having swimming races in the lake. The camping party can end with the traditional birthday cake and singing.

2. Have a pool party. Kids love being in a pool! Even if you don't have a pool of your own, you can still plan a birthday party at the community pool. Get a barbeque grill, hire a clown, and do face painting, all by the poolside. When the kids get hot and sweaty, they can jump into the pool to cool off. They'll definitely enjoy this kind of birthday party!

3. Take them to the movies. Is there a movie coming out that your birthday baby will want to see with friends? Well, why not make a movie date for the birthday party? Many local movie theaters will allow you to book the entire auditorium for your function. Invite as many kids as you can afford, ask the parents to buy the movie tickets, and you can treat them to their favorite movie snacks like popcorn, candy and sodas.

As you can see, these ideas will definitely make the birthday celebration a lot of fun for your child as well as the invited friends. The meaning behind the celebration will still be highlighted by party hats, banners and a cake, even though the actual activities will be different from what they're accustomed to.

Try a different idea every year and you'll be sure to have even more birthday memories than if you threw a typical, traditional birthday bash!
