EURO 2012 in Ukraine and Poland

by Arti Kov

EURO 2012 in Ukraine and Poland - economy and safe sojourn. My name is Pavel, I'm 34 and I resided in Ukraine for 26 years. My job was connected to realty, accommodation and travel business in Ukraine, that's why I know'm informed about] everything in trips and accommodation in Ukraine and have a Western European vision of the processes as I live in Switzerland for a few years. 1. Reaching the Airport. The problem can be a shortage of signs in English, do not assume that all citizens of Ukraine will answer you in English. 2. Moving to the capital, Kharkov, Lvov or Donetsk KIEV The Airport Boryspil is placed in 40 kilometers from Kiev. You can use a taxi - 30 USD or a bus - 5 $ to reach Kiev. We can expect that prices on tickets will be up in summer 2012. KHARKOV, LVOV OR DONETSK You will find 3 internal flights from those cities per day. Do not assume to get not reserved seats in June 2012 for 30 min before flight. There're close to 5 buses going to Kharkov, Lvov and Donetsk from Kiev Borispil Airport. The name of the company is Autolux and the price I suppose is close to 20 $. Another variant is to take a train from the railway station. They have close to 10 trains that going every day to each of those cities and the ticket price is approximately 20 USD, but you should tot up it with the price of the transfer from the Airport Borispil to Kiev. 3. Where to stay? They have a nice alternative to Ukrainian hotels which are very high-priced and may be even more high-priced in June 2012. Apartments with furniture for short term rent are quite popular in Ukraine, you can choose from close to 2000 furnished apartments in Donetsk & Kharkiv, about 1500 in Lviv and more then 3000 furnished apartments for rent for a day in the capital. Exist two causes why most of people from different countrieschoose such apartments for a day or for a week rent: prices are really cheaper then a same level hotel room and the price is charged per apartment and not for person as all hotels in Ukraine take. 4. Taxi and public transport People who are going to Kharkov and Kiev will be more lucky as they have metro in those cities. It's very cheap (0,25 USD), absolute safe, reliable and very clean. But Lviv is not a big city so you can get without any problems to the central part, so there is no problem there also. Taxi rates are approximately 0,5 USD per kilometer but if you will catch a taxi at the street taxi driver can take from you more because of the fact you are from another country. 5.Meal Ukrainian food is enough not expensive and you will like it for sure. You will for sure have nice memories about your diners in Ukraine. 6. Amusements I believe you will be impressed by the big quantity of cute Ukrainian girls. Dating tourism to Ukraine is very popular in west part of Europe. It is possible to browse gorgeous girl's profiles on the site Top-fiancee.Com Dating site.
