What Are The 7 Chakras?

Know your body's key energy points…

by David Tang

'Chakra' means 'wheel' or 'vortex' in Sanskrit and refers to the 'force centres' of the human body in traditional Indian medicine. Practitioners believe that we have 7 master chakras in our body that run from our head down to the base of the spine. The idea is that you have subtle energies running through your body that is related to our physical and emotional wellbeing that can be disrupted by outside influences like stress. By manipulating these energies using crystals it is thought to be possible to realign your energies in 7 main locations and help your overall wellbeing.

Here are the 7 chakras and details on what they are thought to refer to:

Crown Chakra

Your crown chakra is located at the top of your head, or just above it.
