In previous articles on the subject of forgiveness, I've pointed out that despite all that's been said about forgiveness throughout the ages, including modern times, most people still find it very difficult to forgive.

While we may be able to force ourselves to say the words "I forgive you" or "let's just forget the past and move on," still deep within our hearts we often find it difficult to truly let go of all the anger and blame we feel about the past.

This can result in ongoing personal suffering that, for some, continues throughout their entire lifetime.

I've also pointed out that in order to learn how to forgive, you must be able to truly let go of any anger or resentment (chronic anger) that has built up within you. In other words, you have to truly forgive and let go of the past.

But most people find learning to forgive very difficult to do for two main reasons:

· They don't understand what "letting go" really means.

· They don't understand what is causing their anger in the first place.

In this article, I want to introduce you to a 5-step master plan that can help you learn how to truly forgive.

It's the same master plan I have used to overcome my own forgiveness problems earlier in my life. And it's also the same plan I have taught to many others, who have also found it to be very helpful.

Here's a quick overview of the five main parts of this master plan:

1. First, you need to understand what causes all human emotions to occur.

2. Second, you need to learn about the internal causes that enable the specific emotions of anger and resentment to occur for human beings.

3. Then, you need to understand exactly how these internal anger causes function within your body.

4. Next, you will need to know about the major ways these internal anger causes distort your view of the past and make it particularly difficult for you to forgive.

5. And last, you'll need to synthesize all of the valuable knowledge you'll gain from exploring each of these first four steps to finally understand what it takes to truly "let go" and forgive in your heart, not just in your words.

Obviously, this brief article doesn't tell you how to accomplish each of these five steps, but it does give you a powerful roadmap to follow that can benefit you greatly, especially if you are finding it difficult to truly forgive.
