How to Turn Your Flat into a Goldmine
Not literally…
If you live in a big city, have your own flat and are interested in earning lots of money, you can do this by renting your flat out during big events. This might be a festival, a Royal Wedding, or any other kind of event that draws millions of people to your town. You may well be aware that people do this but you may not be aware just how easy it is to do it.

If you have somewhere else you can stay for a few days or a week or so at a time and don't mind having someone random living in your house you only need to follow there simple tips and you could be making hundreds of pounds a day or more, depending on the size and location of your flat.

Taking Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland as an example:

Tip 1 – Make Your Flat the Best it can Be

If you are going to get anyone to want to stay there you need to get nice furniture, nice kitchen fittings and a complete set of dishes, bathroom and bedding stuff. Basically everything you would expect from a hotel room, but across you whole flat. Doing this will give them a pleasant experience and make them more likely to come again or recommend a friend. Also, the nicer your fixtures and fittings and the more luxury items you can include, the more you can charge people to come and stay, especially during a festival period.

Tip 2 – Take Great Photos

One of the most important things you need to do is to take the best photos you can. Make sure to get pictures of the bedroom and the living room as these are what people mostly look for, and if your bathroom or kitchen is particularly nice take pictures of them too. Also, if you live in a nice location get a good shot of the exterior. See tip 3 for what to do with your photos…

Tip 3 – Advertise

To get the word out about the availability of your property, you need to do some advertising. Putting a note in your newsagent isn't going to do very much though. What you need to do is find as many websites as you can which specialise in Edinburgh apartments, or your equivalent and post your images, description and location. The website may also be able to handle all the financial aspects for you so that your potential tenants can pay online.

And that's all there is to it! Just pack up your stuff, charge as much as you can and you get paid for basically taking a holiday at a friend's house.
