That’s the intro line for the latest work at home, make money online, advertisements. Just give us $49.95 and 5 hours of your time each week, and you’ll be making a six figure income in six months. Ok, I also have some ocean front property in Arizona! Let’s face it, if making money on the internet was THAT simple, there would be no need to advertise. Every red-blooded American citizen would be busy raking in their millions. Let’s have a reality check here, and seriously examine the online money opportunities.

All this sarcasm is leading up to some real optimism concerning the opportunity to make money online. For the realistic, open-minded entrepreneur there are real chances to work hard, invest your time (and some start-up capital) and actually make money providing products and/or services to businesses and individuals on the web. You won’t find these opportunities in the “infomercial’ advertisements that creep in as pop-ups while you’re trying to surf or read your email. The opportunities for money online are found in the e-commerce websites, the freelance hiring services online, or the several reputable hiring boards that allow individuals to job search for a small fee, or sometimes for free. Nothing in this world, whether real or virtual, is free. Free lunches cost somebody, somewhere. Ebay offers the “junkyard” entrepreneur the chance to list almost anything for sale, for a price. The phenomenal growth of Ebay and other sites of the same nature provide proof, for even the most pessimistic individuals, those opportunities to make money online do exist. And contrary to popular myths, opportunity also knocks more than once. If you’ve successfully maneuvered yourself into a money opportunity online once, try again. There is nothing like going back to the same well for another drink of water. Thanks to the advent of customer/client feedback, if you provided quality products or services once before, a new customer/client has ready access to this information. Have you ever heard the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is?” There is merit and truth to that statement. There are also numerous online sites that lure the consumer with promises of “easy” money online. I, myself, have fallen victim to this ploy. If you’re serious about the opportunity to make money online, you will have to look past the “easy money” opportunities to find the real opportunities. Money online is no different really, than money in the old fashioned, real world setting. There is no replacement for hard work and dedication. Real or virtual, the requirements are almost identical. I’ve found several excellent websites that offered honest, realistic opportunities to make money online. Access wasn’t free. The training wasn’t free. Most of the opportunities required some sort of expertise or knowledge on my part. Hey, doesn’t this sound familiar? Just like a real job. Well, that’s it folks.
