Certain Disabled Individuals Are Eligible For Life Insurance
NOT available to public
Has a personal disease or impairment kept you from trying to obtain a life insurance policy? If so, I suggest that you don't want to give in just yet. Granted, there are some conditions that will eliminate you from consideration, but unless you are absolutely sure you should contact your insurance agent and give it a shot.
Awhile back I personally ran into a man that was sure that he couldn't obtain life insurance coverage for himself because he is a diabetic. I told him that even though I understood his circumstances, I was certain that it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and fill out the information, after all, you never know what will happen. As you probably already guessed, he was approved. I have to be honest that even I was a bit taken aback, but it goes to show that it doesn't hurt to try. In this unique case, the Underwriter sent a form back asking a series of medical questions and, |after seeing the answers|once they'd seen the answers|after going over the responses}, decided that this man was insurable after all.
I can't sit here and promise you that if you have a terminal disease that you'll be eligible to aquire life insurance. That wouldn't make sense to you or reflect a professional image on my part. However, just because you happen to have a specific disease or disorder doesn't immediately exclude you from consideration for a life insurance policy.
The final decision maker is the above mentioned "Underwiter". He/She reviews the application and, after taking all things into consideration, he or she will make a final decision. Their job is not to pick on you, embarass you, single you out or anything else derogitory. They are simply protecting the interests of the company and nothing more. They have a written list of guidelines that they are made to follow when reviewing applications for life insurance and their decision is in no way "personal". The good news is that you may actually fall within these guidelines and not know that you're eligible. That's because you may have just assumed you couldn't be covered and that's not always the case.
If you have a disabling disease or injury and need life insurance coverage on yourself then, unless you've already been told that you don't qualify, why not answer a few simple questions about yourself? This way you'll know for sure whether or not you're able to purchase the coverage that your loved one's have to have in the event of your death.
