That Round Thing That Chickens Produce
If there’s anything in the world that I would eat every morning (only), it’s probably that glorious sunny-side-up egg! Whether I’m preparing to jump on a bounce house Oakland party or on a giant tarpaulin in Los Angeles, I’d start my day with a delicious, olive-oil-fried, sunny-side-up egg.
When I started going to the gym, I observed my fellow body builders, whose gender preferences still floats, separate the egg white from the yolk. I got dismayed with a horrific scenario of throwing away the yolk into the sink. I’m the guy who treats egg like white gold. Not that it looks like gold, which is a fact, but because of my love for the aborted chick in a white protective shell.
Whenever I eat an egg, I feel like party supplies in Newark are dancing around me. It’s like I’m joyously jumping on a bounce house in Fremont. Suddenly all my kids’ party inflatables rental are free of charge. And the act of murdering the yolk for the second around is rather unacceptable to me.
So while I keep dreaming of joining those marvelous rental party jumpers, I’ve decided to question the facts laid before me by my buddies undergoing identity crisis and yolk serial killing.
According to them, the yolk contains all the cholesterol. It’s the last thing on their list, maybe it’s not on their list after all, to eat such anti-body aesthetic food. Also according to them, they only eat the egg white because of the protein it has.
After my research in the name of return to academic success I once failed to be successful on, I got my firm, convicted answer about the wonder of throwing away the yolk: It’s not real!
According to Certified Nutrition Specialist & Certified Personal Trainer Mike Geary, the yolk is the healthiest part of the egg. It’s where the nutrition is concentrated and it helps the egg white to do its function.
It contains the vitamins A, D, E, and K that are fat soluble. It also has Omega-3 fatty acids which are good fat for the heart.
So where did we all go wrong?
This boils down to our definition of cholesterol. Of course we know that there is good HDL cholesterol and bad LDL cholesterol. Now here comes a scientific misunderstanding. No scientist, chemist, biologist, nutritionist, arsonist, polygamist, and physicist that said egg yolk is bad for your health. It’s otherwise, come to think of it.
Whole eggs actually saves us from bad cholesterol by surpassing the dreaded power of bad cholesterol. Of course, we always have to see to it that our intake, not just for eggs, is normal and not too much. Cliché as it is, too much of everything is fatal. I wonder if that cliché is applicable to moderate smoking.
Here’s another fact. Whole egg is so important that it helps the body against internal inflammation. Lutein, an antioxidant, protects the body from bad cholesterol. The process of inflammation is actually the detrimental factor of heart disease, and egg prevents such.
So there I go! Eggs are still my best of friends. By the way, those guys in the gym don’t trust this. They grounded their beliefs from their own study and so we can’t convince all people.
