Looks Like We Made It!

by Arthur

Made what you might be asking yourself, this is a famous song by Barry Manilow, look like we made it through the rain and kept our world protected, we made through the rain, now we are respected by the others who got rained on too, we made it through.

I would like to say that this chapter is for all those with a mental health disorder and cannot seem to find the right answer to the questions they have. Maybe they feel lost as if no one is on there side. Remember you are in charge of your recovery, so make it through the rain and keep your world protected, you can make through the rain and then you will be respected by the others who were rained on too, you made it through.

I must admit that, this pertains to anyone who may be going through a hard time and just cannot control your emotions and you need some hope that tomorrow will be a better day. I can honestly say that things will get better if, you get involved with your recovery, the more you know the better you are going to get.

If you need therapy go ahead and get it, I still to this day need therapy sometimes. I say it is sign of strength not weakness, do not listen to the mainstream; they are the same ones who drink there self-silly. Yes, it is hard I am not going to sugar coat it, but if you want to get better, you have to pay the price; there is no other way around it.

We need to break the negative stigma in this country about mental health disorders. Make it ok to have a problem of the mind, it’s no difference than heart disease, we just need a chance to reach out and tell the world it’s ok and assure them that there is indeed a great chance at recovery, that each new day there is something very positive about mental health, we never hear about!

I say shout it, shout it, shout it aloud! That it’s ok to have a mental health disorder, let’s push the media for all the good stuff that is happening, what about the ten thousand people who went back to work, after being in the hospital for six weeks and now they can finally smile again, it’s like they have gotten there life back

That’s what I mean when I say, I’ve made it through the rain and kept my world protected, I made it through the rain and now I am respected by the others who got rained on too, I made it through! I really have made it back from the throngs of mental illness, I have been admitted to the hospital over 39 times in a ten-year period.

I know what it is like to have no hope in tomorrow and I know what it is like to want to die! Please know I have made it through the rain, and so can you, I do not think this, I know you can! Like Nike says just do it. My doctor always says you do not have to feel good to do something, just do it and sooner than later, you will want to do it.

I know sometimes it is hard, but you need to push your self through the tough times, and do something that you don’t want to do and you will soon like feeling to do it, fake it till you make it, he always says that to me also. So make it through the rain and keep your world protected, you can make it through the rain and keep your world protected, you can make it through and you will be respected by the others who got rained on too, yes you made it through!
