My Secret Attitude That Allows Me To Sell My House Quickly
Since it's my business to buy houses and improve them in order to re-sell quickly, I've learned a few things about how to look at each house individually, as though it is my own home, as though I bought it to live in it, which is the first way I prepare myself to sell my house quickly. Let me explain what I just said, since it's a little unusual. I step back from each house
I buy and look at it as though it is my only house. For me, that takes a little effort. I've bought and sold hundreds of houses, so although each house is unique, it is not my actual home. Each house is an item of inventory in my real estate business, and I see it primarily for the profit it will provide me when it sells. I am explaining this is great detail because this is actually the same way you need to look at your house, too.
Now, you may not be a real estate investor who buys and sells houses for a living like I am, but you can wear my hat, so to speak, and look at your house the way I look at houses. You can pretend to be me! Here's what you will see if you choose to see your house the way I would see your house:
1. You see what needs to be cleaned up and fixed up to make the house look good to prospective buyers.
2. You see your own house in a fresh, new way, similar to the way you saw it when you were looking at it for the first time.
3. You know what features to highlight in order to make sure that other people notice them, too, those special things about your house, such as extra lighting in the kitchen, unique garden plants, or built-in storage in the laundry room.
Your attitude has to flip from "I want to sell my house quickly" to "this house is so great maybe I should just keep it!" This attitude switch is the secret to seeing your house as other people see it, and to remembering the features that sold you on the house in the first place so you can highlight them to attract your buyer.
We all become accustomed to our surroundings and forget that others see them differently. Whether I use a real estate agent to help me find a buyer or whether I intend to find a buyer myself, my secret attitude shift helps me create the excitement I need to list the features I want to share with prospective buyers.
I list these features in ads and share these features when I'm talking to people to sell my house quickly myself. I make sure my real estate agent uses these features the same way in her ads and her conversations with home buyers. It works for all of us!
