Making New Beginnings From Redundancy

As the economic crisis continues to bite, workers across the globe are feeling the pinch. No industry is safe from the job losses and every worker has a right to feel concerned. The economic crisis is developing quickly and the worker is the one paying for it.

Governments suggest retraining for when the crisis is over but the truth is that the government is only stepping in when the company’s profits need boosting, but not to help the worker.

The government has given bailouts costing billions of dollars of taxpayer money in order to boost the economy but this has not done anything to save jobs. Banks are not doing any better than before the bailouts because people don’t have any confidence in the economy. Most people will not enter into any credit arrangements at this time because of the instability of the employment sector and the subsequent difficulty in being able to repay the debt.

This is a time to take stock of your life and your priorities. Rather than being bitter and angry about losing your job, look at it in a positive light. What can you do now that you couldn’t do while you were working? Now I know a lot of you will think I’m a fool for believing that there is anything positive happening here. I assure you there is and I will explain myself.

Look back at history and you will find that people have succeeded during recession. Why? Because they thought independently and didn’t follow the trend of doom and gloom thinking. See you redundancy as a new beginning and choose your own future. Staying in a rut of anger and despair will get you nowhere. Looking at new possibilities will.

So is it possible to make a living online to offset the loss of your job? Of course it is but you must think for yourself. Don’t believe all the hype about making millions overnight or being able to buy a yacht next week. That’s for suckers!!

No matter what the ads tell you, whatever you have a go at, do it as a long-term venture. Make a commitment to something and treat it as a business. I fell for so many scams I became a bit of a joke to some of my friends and lost a lot of money along the way. I have only found a few things that work and I have to work hard to make them work for me. I’m not going to fill you with bulls**t and say I’ve made millions because I haven’t.

However, I am making enough to pay my rent and bills and I am still working so that’s not too bad. Mind you, there are rumblings of job cuts in my workplace so I am not confident that I will be working for long. If that happens though, I will look at it as being the chance of spending more time on my internet business.

I know many of you are reluctant to try online marketing, especially given the stories of people being ripped off by scams. However, in these times, we must look for an alternative way to survive and internet marketing could just be the answer as long as you are careful.

Online marketing is about effort. A lot of people believe that only those at the top earn money but it has nothing to do with where you are placed but with how hungry you are to succeed. You can do very well out of it if you put in the time and effort to make it work for you. This includes advertising your site and not just expecting people to find it without any exposure.

Many companies give you a free website or a low cost website and there is a huge amount of free advertising available. Search Google and you will find numerous sites to place your ad for nothing.

I am only able to work part-time with my two businesses at present but am already able to eke out an existence. Therefore, if you are able to devote more of a fulltime presence to it, it stands to reason that you should be able to do better than that. Just stick at it. The reason a lot of people fail to make money online is that they give up far too quickly.

So, see the economic crisis as an opportunity for personal and financial growth. There has never been a better time to have a go at online marketing and being financially independent.
