The Harsh Reality of MLM and Earning Money Online

by Danny Rudloff

People that choose the path of making money outside of the job usually become intrigued with MLM and what it promises to give them. Heard of MLM? You have probably heard of pyramids schemes. These are not the same as MLM, which is an acronym for Multi Level Marketing. When a person hires you into this type of company, every time you make a sale, you get a commission - and so does the other person. Essentially, you make a commission when someone you hire makes a sale, just like the person above you made a commission when you sold a product. Beware! The promise of prosperity often fools a lot of people. In the following paragraphs, we are going to tell you what to watch out for when it comes to MLM.

Recruiters will always tell you that multi level marketing is a ground floor opportunity. They like to say that you must get into multi level marketing while the time is right. This is used a lot because it appeals to the average browser's sense of urgency. The average person will feel terrible if they pass up a ground floor chance to make loads of money. If you do a little digging, however, you will see that most of these companies have been around for quite a while. They just have it set up to look like they have not been conducting business for years. Consider this to be one of the key reasons that you should not join a multi level marketing company if you have not researched the company history first. This is especially before paying money to become a member of any MLM opportunity. It has been said that "Network marketing is the best way to get new products on the market in existence today". Is this actually true? It is absolutely 100% false. Doing personal retail sales, particularly door to door type of sales like the kind that most MLM people rely upon is over. In fact, there are many more advanced solutions for promoting your products and getting them in front of interested potential buyers. The MLM business model is very simple: recruit other people and have them do most of the work so you can reap the rewards. The reason people do not work at MLM is that they are waiting for other people to do it for them.

How many MLM programs have you seen so far that advertise how simple it will be to sell their products to the people you know? In fact, how many times have you seen the hype about how happy everyone you know will be to sign up to the MLM program through you? These sites tell you that your friends and loved ones will be happy to work for you to sell your products to the people they know. Yet, the sad reality remains that the majority of people will be more likely to be offended than excited about your offer. Even if you do recruit one or two people, you have no guarantee that they'll sell anything or even earn anything. Then there's the issue of selling only one or two items to family members. They may buy out of loyalty to you once, but they aren't likely to continue. This limits your 'business' model severely. At some point in everyone's life, they will try to make money on the Internet. Your quest for Internet riches will inevitably lead you to MLM websites that will promise to help you make money through their company and their products. Don't get hooked! Finding a way to make money online is not that easy, but you should attempt to do this without joining an MLM company if at all possible. It is in your best interest to not waste your time with these businesses. This little bit of information is just a straw in a very large haystack. There are many other reasons to avoid these companies as well.
