Top tips For Making Your Kids More Active
Get Off That Sofa
For many parents getting their kids to drag themselves away from the TV or PlayStation is an on-going daily battle. It may seem easier to just let them have their way and to lie about the house all day but this will have negative impacts not only on their health but on their social skills too. It is important for a child's development that they learn to interact with other children and obviously it's important that they get regular exercise. So the trick is to get them started early so that activity and exercise is a part of life, try these tips:

Set Up Goals

No literally set up goals in your back garden. If children have something inviting outside that tempts them to come out and play, such as football goals in their back garden then they will be less likely to sit in front of the TV and you might just end up with the next Da vid Beckham on your hands, minus the tattoos.

Control The Gameplay

It's ok to let your kids play computer games from time to time as long as it is not for hours every day. Everything should be in moderation, the amount of computer games they play, TV they watch, sweets they eat etc. you don't want to take away their fun after all your only a but it is irresponsible to let them binge on anything. Why not buy them a games console that allows them to exercise while they play such as the Wii, this is also a fun activity to do as a family.

Take Them Out

It is important that you as the parents are willing to put in the effort to ensure that your kids are active. This could involve taking them swimming every weekend or taking them to football, rugby, dancing practice, whatever they're into really. A great way to get your kids active is to take them and their friends for a day out to an adventure playground. You will find that they will run around for hours being fuelled by excitement and screaming and it's perfectly safe as the indoor play equipment is designed by softplay equipment specialists to protect against falls and bumps. Your kids will enjoy it, get lots of exercise and pick up vital interaction skills without even realising it so all it takes it a little effort on your part to get them active.
