How to Get as Many Nutritional Benefits from Juicing as Possible

by Dario Mynear

Juicing fruits and vegetables provides the body with plenty of different benefits. One way of looking at this is to imagine that you can combine many different kinds of vegetables in a juice drink. And the thing is that very few people would eat the whole foods in that way. There is some creativity involved in juicing but that gets based on solid information. It's not hard to mix together a lot of different ingredients so that you can achieve very specific effects--which is something that a lot of people do.

Efficiency is just about the best word to associate with juicing...maybe. It might simply be our opinion but you really can't argue when it comes to efficiency. Where cooking and juicing are concerned it is important to understand that you need to do some cleaning up after you do both of them. Consider, though, that you can prepare a healthy juice drink for your breakfast meal. And then its easy enough to down while you go to work. If this is what you want to do, pick out your ingredients carefully because your stomach is going to be empty. You may not want to make a powerhouse juice drink that slams your belly first thing in the morning. It is going to definitely wake you up so choose carefully and choose ingredients that your stomach won't hurt.

The benefits of juicing that are truly unique are probably few, in spite of what you might have learned through marketing. That does not mean, though, that juicing is a terrible idea. In fact, juicing is really healthy for you and there is all sorts of evidence backing this up. I feel it's important that you avoid falling for any hype marketing about the subject. Juicing is a lifestyle decision that increases your chances of actually getting the proper nutrition, which means that it is much better than simply taking a multi-vitamin every day. Although I recommend you still do both and it won't cause a problem. That is how you do the best job of covering all of your bases and making sure that each of your needs is actually met.

There are some foods, according to experienced juicers, that you should avoid until you have more experience with juicing. It is widely understood that there are some foods, like veggies, that make your stomach feel bad. That's probably due to the level of nutrient concentration in your juices. People who are new to juicing should begin with simple things like cucumbers and celery. Adding lemon and lime can help you make it taste better. If you want to make your vegetable juice easier to drink, these two fruits are more helpful than any others. They are really good for you, taste good and shouldn't cause you any intestinal distress. All you can do is experiment and that's half the fun of juicing, anyway.

You can have a lot more flexibility and efficiency with regards to the nutrients you need the most from fruits and vegetables when you start juicing. It is also possible to fix a juice to target and center on a specific benefit that you need the most in that moment. Some people juice to give themselves a quick burst of energy. This is the flexibility benefit that is available with juicing.
