Getting Great Rates on Grand Canyon National Park Bus Trips

by Lea Fallon

The next time you go to Vegas, you should take a fun bus trip to the Grand Canyon. There are several from which to choose, and they're very affordably priced. Plus, there are ways to save on the cost of your tour. When you book your seats online and use an online coupon, you get a real good deal on your Grand Canyon Tour.

Everything Is Included

These tour packages are all-inclusive so you don't have to worry about additional charges once your tour starts, the price includes transportation to and from your hotel, lunch, a tour guide, Park fees, and taxes. I think this is a big help, because you don't have to worry about anything other than wearing the right clothes and bringing some snacks and your cell phone/camera.

Which Rim?

Vegas Grand Canyon bus tours can take you to either the South or the West Rim. The South Rim, at 277 miles, is more than twice as far as the West (120 miles). The difference in distance can be meaningful, especially if your group includes seniors or small kids.

Visiting The South Rim

Both the West Rim and South Rim bus tours take you by Hoover Dam and Lake Mead on the way to the canyon. From there they head to Williams, AZ and then to the main gates of the National Park. You will see Grand Canyon Village, Mather Point, and Yaki Point. The Village offers a nice break where you can get something to eat and buy some souvenirs.

Tours To The West Rim

You will love the scenic vistas here at Guano Point and Eagle Point. But the fabulous Grand Canyon Skywalk is far and away its most famous attraction. This bridge is made of glass and you can walk out on it 70 feet beyond the edge and stand 4000 feet above the canyon floor!

You might want to get the tour package that comes with a chopper descent to the canyon floor. The West Rim is the only place in the entire Park where you can have this exhilarating experience. Once you get to the bottom, you can hop on a raft and float along the waters of the Colorado River!

Grand Canyon bus tours pull out of Vegas 365 days a year, holidays included. You have to get up early though because they leave around seven in the morning. Tours of the West Rim can be 12 hours long while the ones to the South Rim last about 15 hours. It is a tiring full-day trip, so you don't want to add dinner plans for the evening.

Tickets

Coach tours are popular because they're the least expensive way to see the canyon. I suggest booking at least 4 days before your desired departure date. If you wait until the same day or even the day before, you will probably be out of luck.

You definitely want to book your seats online. You will find great discounts that way. Avoid the big name travel sites though, or you will have to pay too much. Go directly to the tour operator's website. When you do that, you get to use their lower Internet rate. Also, if you can find a coupon code, be sure to use it online because you will save quite a bit more.

Summary

Use the Internet rate along with an online coupon and you can save money off the already low price of a bus tour to the Grand Canyon. Before you book, choose the rim you'd like to visit. Either way, you will have a full day of excitement and adventure. You'll have a great time at either one.
