Three Motor Vehicle Corporations From Europe That Were Outstanding

by James Joseph

People in the United States will likely not think of what other countries can produce or have accomplished. We get hold of a car and do not really think about where they were developed unless they were luxury cars. Europe makes some superb cars and some of the best are not by organizations people would think of. Rolls Royce, Mercedes, and BMW really are exceptional cars, together with Lamborghini or even a Jaguar, but these are beyond the reach of a typical car buyer. But there are three additional automakers that make excellent automobiles. This report goes European to take a peek at Volvo, Volkswagen, and also Audi.

For a country having only nine million people, it is amazing that it is able to sustain two automakers. Sweden is that particular nation that has both Volvo and Saab. The automotive market has been greatly influenced by Volvo, which is now part of the Ford Motor Company. When safety standards were low just about everywhere, it was Volvo and their own desire for higher standards that changed the industry. Volvo produced safety features that the majority of cars these days have like front end crumple zones and reinforced roofs. They became well known for putting together high quality and ultra safe vehicles. It was because of Volvo's desire for excellence that raised the safety standards of cars throughout the world.

The Volkswagen Beetle is one of those iconic cars that just about anyone is familiar with. The Beetle was produced to be the first people's car, and it was first developed in the 1930s in Germany. It made it through World War II to become not simply just about the most treasured cars, but was also the most mass-produced. The Beetle made it possible for people from every walk of life to own a car. Anybody, whether they happened to be college students, farmers or business people, could obtain a Beetle. The Beetle was no longer brought in to the United States during the 1970s, but was produced in Mexico for another generation.

Long ago, Audi presented the first all-wheel drive Quattro and it was considered a great advancement in technology. Audi took the auto marketplace by storm and put the bar high for other luxury automakers. Audi was way ahead of their competition mainly because of their Quattro technology. Their traction and road handling was so far advanced in comparison to the competition, that the cars were not allowed in certain racing competitions.
