Telecom sector on rise among outsourcing industry

Outsourcing is one of the most popular business options these days in the present era it is the most highly paying jobs. The outsourcing industry is spreading its wings in every area. Development of the outsourcing can be seen in every field be it software development or telecom sector. Survey report suggests that India is emerging as the best option for outsourcing among the rest of the countries. It would not be amazing to know that the survey reports proves that from 2000-2005, India’s share of global sourcing grew from 62% to 65% for IT and 39% to 46% for ITES-BPO.

Maran is India's cabinet-level minister of communications and information technology whose mission is to sell India Corp. he stated in an interview “The IT sector is growing at 33 percent, the telecom sector is growing at such a great speed.'' The development of the telecommunication is seen at the highest level among the other outsourcing business.

According to the location index created by the AT Kearney Global Services 2005 gave a weighed score of 10 countries based on their financial structure (four points), people and skills availability (three points) and business environment (three points) in which India has been allocated the top position with the highest score of 6.87 points. India is the country that posses the highest number of good skilled people, the number of IT-ITES professional employed in India has grown from 8.3 lakhs in FY 2003-04 to over one million in FY 2004-05.

The telecommunication sector is among the fastest growing IT markets in the Asia- Pacific region. According to the latest study the domestic IT-ITES market is valued at $10.2 billion in 2004-05 and is expected to exceed $12.4 billion that is a straight rise of 22 % in 2005-06. The demand of the services is expected to exceed with the high range of about 21 % that is it may across $4 billions. Bharti has outsourced its call centre operations, supporting its mobile services customers across 23 circles, to IBM-Daksh, Mphasis, HTMT, TeleTech. Whirpool has outsourced a range of customer interaction services, including inbound complaint management and queries, outbound dealer calling and the client's customer database to Info vision.
