How to use social networking sites to conduct a free background check

by Steve Stone

Social networking sites such as Myspace and Facebook are great for delving into the backgrounds of new people in your life or business. Not only are these sites free but they will often times give us more useful data than even a paid background check.

Millions of people use these social networking sites on a daily basis. Members use these services to stay in contact with friends and family, network for employment and even find dates. The chances are very high that your subject has a membership at one of these social sites.

What we are interested in as arm chair detectives are their profiles. Many social sites will give the member the ability to put a personal profile with their account. These profiles contain everything from where they live to where they work. These profiles are a gold mine of free background check data for our investigations.

The cool thing about these sites are that they allow us to conduct a search by name, email address and dozens of other search criteria. As armchair investigators, we can use the data that we already have to narrow our search . This will often times give us the results we need to find our subject's profile.

From the profile that we find, we can determine what city or state that we need to focus our investigations on. Most sites even give you the option of contacting the member from their profile page.

Social networking web sites are one of the greatest weapons in our free background check arsenal. If you are ready to conduct your search go to - http://free-background-check.spaces.live.com
