Soon after this Bachelor degree module was started, since then, the college has been enjoying close collaboration with colleges from Australia and the United Kingdom in nurturing top professionals of the future.
Later in March 2007, MDIS School of tourism and hospitality was finally started and this event was attended by a lot of travel and tourism industry companies. It is perceived that the beginning of this school of hospitality was an appropriate move by MDIS. It came in just in time to help address the many need for experienced and skilled individual in the travel, tourism and hospitality organisations. Students were provided in both classroom setting as well as hands on practical experiences. This was because these hospitality management students not only have to go through the academic section of the events in campus, they are also required to finish a four to six months work experience at leading hotels, resorts, attractions as part of the curriculum. Through these work opportunities, pupils would be better equipped for any hotel management or tourism management related issues.
Up to date, there have been more than 3,000 students coming from more than 20 countries that have joined MDIS School of Tourism and Hospitality. This quick increase in pupils community has also brought about more improvements for the college. Through this, MDIS contributed more than a quarter- million dollars on a training area to train students with the great information and techniques to work in the different tourism and hospitality firms. Since this school of hospitality has been voted as one of the best hospitality and tourism studies in Singapore, it will continue to improve and beat students' goals by giving quality education and services.
