Diaper rash is easy to see. It's a red rash on your child's bottom. The redness may be appear with blisters or pimples if your baby has bad diaper rash. This redness appears on the baby�s bottomand genitals.

<b>Causes of Diaper Rash:</b> All babies will usually get diaper rash at one point or another. When diaper rash occurs, it isn't because of parental neglect. It's normal for a baby to get diaper rash. The main causes of diaper rash are:

-sensitivity to urine

-sensitivity to specific brands of diapers or wipes

-sensitivity to laundry detergent used to wash cloth diapers

-dirty diaper left on too long

-diapers that are put on too tight and rub the skin

-bacterial infection

<b>Diaper Rash Treatment:</b> To treat diaper rash, you must keep the affected area cool and dry. You can do so by changing diapers as soon as they are soiled. As soon as you wipe the area clean, let the area air dry before putting on any cream or ointment. You can also:

-pat or blot the affected area when changing diapers, making sure to get all the stool and urine

-use a diaper rash cream

-soak your baby's bum in warm soapy water

<b>Preventing Diaper Rash:</b> In an effort to prevent your baby from getting diaper rash often, you can:

-change wet and soiled diapers frequently

-allow the skin to dry completely before putting on another diaper

-change brands of diapers or wipes

-use diaper rash cream regularly

-do not put the diapers on too tight

-change laundry detergent used to wash cloth diapers
