Social Media refers to the things that allow people to connect, share, and discuss information throughout various communities online.
Such as...
• YouTube
• MySpace

• Blogs
These tools have allowed virtually anyone to connect, share, discuss, and comment on anything from the meaning of life, to what you think about a political candidate - and everything in between (literally...it's pretty scary what kind of stuff is discussed out there)
But I'm absolutely SHOCKED and APPALLED at the number of Network Marketers that screw it up.
I know that sounds harsh, but you need to wake up and understand 2 vitally important things.
1. Social Media is the wave of the future. Period.
I'm sure that we are all aware of that now days. Everyone and their brothers are making videos and posting them. And tweeting... Did you know that Twitter in one month went from 1 million users to over 14 million, talk about exploding!
2. If you screw it up, people will completely ignore you, and you'll ruin your reputation while blowing you're single biggest opportunity for traffic, branding, and wealth creation in the history of the internet.
It is important as Network Marketers that we learn how to advertise our business and or opportunity the best ways possible, and using social media is one of those ways.
Still don't believe me that it is a gold mine for you just waiting to be tapped? Ok well maybe this will help get rid of some that skepticism.
• Facebook has 140 million active users, up 89% this you alone
• Facebook users check their accounts 3-4 times per day
• The 18-34 age group (the most targeted advertising frame int eh world) spends 4.3 TIMES as much of their leisure time on social media sites as they do watching television AND listening to radio combined.
It's time you got in the game ladies and gentlemen. But make sure you take the time to learn about it, because you only get one shot at doing it right.
