With no website or list, how do you build a list without spamming?
If you’re starting from scratch online and want to build a business which will blossom into an empire, the first thing you need to do is purchase a domain and then purchase hosting for your website. After you do this, you need to set up your website.
That is the biggest and most pressing aspect of your business. The website you put up must have an opt-in or squeeze page as it is often referred to as. This is the box that allows your visitors to enter their name and email address so that they can become a part of your list and you can keep communicating with them. You need to purchase an autoresponder software program like 1shoppingcart.com or aweber.com in order set up your email sequences and to capture that information and follow up with your list. Then after you have that autoresponder set-up, you’re ready to capture the information of your visitors.
Once you have the opt-in page up, then the next thing you need to do is start driving traffic to it. This is a very fundamental and sound approach. You must drive traffic to your website in order to make things happen. That’s the only way to grow your business. These are the most essential things that need to be done because it's the foundation of your business..
The fastest way to build your list is to team up with other marketers in your niche. Maybe even do a teleseminar with guest speakers if appropriate. Another way is to start a Google Adwords campaign or something similar to drive traffic to your site. Depending on your niche, you may even try offline marketing. The reason I’m saying that is because it’s going to be easier for you to identify who those individuals are that buy.
One thing I don't recommend for online marketing is buying lists of contacts. This is called spamming and can get you banned by the search engines. But if you start with the above strategies, you’re sure to see some good traffic to begin building your business.
