After you have chosen your direct sales company and researched the product, there are still some steps to take to make sure that you have found a great company. The product, training, and community participation are important, but you will also want to know about the company's management. Your executive job may seem to have been different from online marketing, but in both cases, good management equals good results. Make sure that you have a reputable management team in place; this will ensure as much as any other factor that you see the profits from your efforts.
Who is behind the company you are considering? Have you read good resources that tell something of the company's founder? Is this person accessible? Of course, the Internet makes such research a breeze. Google search on the name of the people on the management team and read reviews that are posted on sites other than the official website. Make sure that your company's founder and management team has a history of integrity.
Even though there are legitimate direct sales companies out there where people are making money, many companies have taken advantage of potential direct sales associates. If your potential company is giving you information that doesn't seem creditable, such as "fake it till you make it", you might want to look at another company. This mind set will only get you in debt that you may not be able to pay off in the future.
A legitimate company will have sound reports that don't require you to invest a small fortune with no products. When investing in a home based business, you want to make sure that the direct sales business model you have chosen yields results. Don't get involved with a company that is might be banking on your failure (since 98% of participants in those multiple level schemes drop out without ever experiencing success!). They actually want you to fail so they can get profits from the people you have brought into the company! Make sure that your home based business will generate an income for you.
It is your completely up to you when working in direct sales, and believing in your company's management and its products are essential keys to your success. Don't give your hard-earned money to a questionable organization; one that might just after your pocketbook. At the same time, don't get disheartened by the reality that there are frauds operating out there as well. You can still make a fantastic living with a legitimate company, and there are thousands of success stories out there!
