Your Secret Ingredient Is Great Glass

by Dave Jones

Tableware is often underestimated when planning a dinner party, despite the fact that guests will be within overfriendly proximity with it all evening! It is very easily done for the host to neglect this important area, whilst managing all of the other stresses of entertaining guests at an important dinner party. This is because they will have the menu to consider, the sequence of the evening and not to mention - where on earth is everybody going to sit? However, there really is nowhere to hide if a series of shoddy decisions have been made on the tableware front.

Another key area to consider is glassware, which will be expected to serve you through occasion after occasion. Tableware and glassware do not have to match, but if a positive impression is to be made, they will need to at least vaguely liaise. Depending on your colour scheme, this should not be too hard to achieve. Glassware pieces such as champagne flutes and saucers will not need as much planning as, for example, your wine glasses might. This is because generally speaking guests will drink Champagne whilst standing, or before using any tableware and serve ware, meaning that they can be centre stage, and chosen in their own right. Wine however will most often be served with food and so it is important that wine glasses are chosen more carefully in order not to clash entirely with the serve ware and tableware being used.

If a real impact is desired, a matching glassware and tableware combination can create a truly stunning scene. There are a few unbeatable examples by LSA International, who hand make everything from simplistic, clear glass sets to vibrant and unusual, colour co-ordinated sets. The good news about the above glassware company is that they do not expect you to pay a hideous price despite not compromising on quality.

A colourful set is often more fun, especially if the room in which guests are eating is fairly bare, or the interior is not as proud as it could be! Likewise if the dinner party is to take place within a modern home environment, colourful glassware and tableware might be the one for you. Accompanied by an elegant cut, a hint of colour could be just what your table setting needs. Whatever your choice, opt for something that is elegant and stylish, but is sure not to go out of fashion. Let your glassware be your secret ingredient, and impress guests with your effortless flair for hosting!
