Right vs Wrong Decisions - How Do You Know?
There really aren't right or wrong decisions. There is the choice you make, what transpires when you make it, and what you do from there.
When you make a decision and it doesn't turn out the way you had hoped, it doesn't mean it was the "wrong" one, or if you would have chosen differently, it would be the "right" one.
Either way, you made your decision, and now it is offering you possibilities and opportunities to learn something new about yourself, another person, or the situation you are in.
Will you recognize what is being shown to you? Will you listen? Will you surrender to the truth that you don't have all the answers?
Sometimes there may be consequences from the choices you make and you will have to make your way through those, as challenging as it might be, and sometimes it may take longer than you had anticipated.
You see, the choices you make are just that. You make a decision and then you let go and go with the flow so to speak. You do the best you can with the choice you made.
Some choices are easier to make than others because they aren't ones that affect your future or well being. They are day to day ones like what to eat, or whether to run errands today or tomorrow, or what item on your to-do list you will start with today, or what movie to see, or where to go on vacation, etc.
For some, even simple decisions require some extra thought or effort but they don't necessarily change or impact your future.
Deciding whether you will leave a relationship or start a new one, or leave a job, or move or start over, or decide which treatment is best for your illness, or whether to retire, etc., can create quite a lot of stress and fear, as well as second guessing whether you made, or are making, the "right or wrong" choice.
If you make decisions from a centered or educated place, then things are more apt to go smoothly. That's not to say that you won't encounter some challenges along the way, or have some other choices to make, but your doubts as to whether you made the correct or incorrect decision will be less.
When you listen to the quiet and stillness within, you will be guided to what to do or not do. Then you won't be fighting the battle of right vs. wrong, you will be in the space of knowingness and coasting with the choice you made until you make another one.
When you make quick decisions, or ones based on others' opinions, or out of fear, or when your emotions are running high, then you might find yourself second guessing your decisions because you weren't listening to the voice within.
Whether you make a fast decision or one you have taken time to explore, you can take what you've learned, the insights you've gained and are still receiving, and continue on.
You're not going to know how things are going to turn out when you make a decision and that's okay, it is part of the learning process.
So why do some people make the same decisions over and over again even when they know things may not work?
They may be tuning out instead of in; they may not have built enough confidence in themselves; they may not trust themselves, the universe, or others; they may be over confident; they may be fearful of making another wrong decision or afraid of how their choice will be viewed by others.
So how do you know whether the decision you make is the right or wrong one for you?
When you make a choice from within, not from your head, or your needs to be fulfilled, or from others, you can rest assure it will guide your way because it's connected to the wisest of wise.
Yes, you still won't know how things will be, or where it will take you, or how it will impact you and the lives of others, but it will be guided by the greatest instructor of life.
When you take away the belief or judgment that it has to be one or the other, then you open yourself to the experience of it, rather than the control and expectations of how it should be.
Remember, whatever choice you make, ask yourself, "What is the experience offering me?".
