Starting Over Again

by Susan Russo

"What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from."

-T.S. Eliot

When you really want to be good at something you practice over and over until you get it right or until you are the best at what you do. No matter how many times your attempts to succeed fall short or no matter how many times you fail, you pick up the ball and get right back in the game.

The other alternative is you stop trying, you give up, you throw in the towel and you resign yourself to the fact that you will never have what you wanted. So, which one are you? A quitter in life or a survivor? A victim or a victor?

Don't ever give up on your dreams or yourself! Just because some things didn't work out the way you wanted them to, doesn't mean that they aren't going to down the road. It may be with another person or another company or another business but if you give up, one thing is certain, you are 100% guaranteed not to ever get what you want.

Starting over only means that your life is going in a different direction, it doesn't mean that you life is over. It is a new beginning; you are simply changing course. Although it may be scary at times, if you bury the past and place your focus on the present it will become a better future.

It's when you can't get over what went wrong and you dwell on how and why, that you stay stuck in limbo and you miss out on living today. Don't allow people and things define you and dictate how you feel. YOU have options in life.

Ultimately, you choose how you are going to react and only you can decide how you are going to allow whatever happens to you effect you.

The good news is that all of your "situations" in life are lessons that will not only make you wiser for the future but they strengthen your character and make you the person you are today. Begin to look at starting over as an adventure. Because the reality is you may have stayed in a relationship that you should've left a long time ago, or you may have remained stuck in a job that wasn't right for you to begin with, or someone finally showed you their true colors and who they really are; and we all know one thing for sure…things ALWAYS work out in the end.
