Making the commitment in your relationship. This may be your ultimate relationship goal, but for some, the idea of commitment scares them away. You may wish to settle down and grow closer to your partner, but unfortunately, the thrill of the chase may be their ideal way of life.

Becoming an adult, finding the right one, and getting married might appeal to you as the perfect plan for the future. Unfortunately, this plan is becoming less popular in our society as divorce rates increase over time. Still, looking for and finding "the one", settling down, and bring up a family is still a gratifying experience.

Finding the right partner for you is a must for a commitment to be a lifelong, pleasurable experience. For this to happen, your partner must want the same things out of life as you do. So finding the right one may involve going that extra mile to get them. Both of you must absolutely mean it when you say "I love you" to one other. Relationships can't be a long-term happy experience if both of you don't mean this when you say it.

Your relationship doesn't have to be anchored by a contract. But your relationship must have that spark to glue you as a couple together. To do this you need to keep things fresh as the first months pass. If boredom settles in, it can wreck your relationship. This means keeping romance alive. Keep doing the things you do in the beginning of your relationship. Continue to "date" each other by keeping your movie and dinner nights out or leave cute little notes for your partner to find.

Don't let problems fester. Discuss them with your partner when they occur. Letting them sit for a period of time will only make it worse for the next time the issue surfaces. The sooner you talk about a problem the better chance you have of resolving it, allowing your relationship to continue with the love you share.

Commitment in a relationship is a quest that will have its peaks and valleys, while having its rewards too. Nothing can be more gratifying than raising a family, and growing old with a loving partner. Remember, the most important commitment of all is the one you have with yourself! If makes you a better partner overall.

Sadly, thrill chasers miss out completely because they never committing to anyone person, or give up right when things starts to get serious.
