Want to have a time of your life with your friends? Get yourself raptors tickets for the season. Be sure to have a rollicking time filled with nail biting tension.

The Beginning

Raptors got their name, color, and logo through a nationwide contest. The name selected was after the popularity of the movie Jurassic Park. On 24th May 1994, the teams logo and the first General Manager, Isiah Thomas were announced at a press conference. The team colors of bright red, purple, black, and silver were also revealed, with “Naismith” chosen as an ode to Canadian James Naismith, inventor of basketball.

The Raptors are a part of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. NBA wanted to expand in to Canada, in 1995 along with Vancouver Grizzlies, Toronto Raptors came into existence. In 2001, the Grizzlies relocated themselves to Memphis, Tennessee; making Raptors the only Canadian Team in the NBA. Raptors tickets saw a luke warm demand, as the team struggled in their early years. They originally played all their home games in the Sky Dome (Renamed as Rogers Centre, is the multi-purpose stadium to have a fully retractable motorized roof). In 1999, they moved onto the Air Canada Centre (ACC, which is 665,000 square feet in size!)

The team’s fate changed in 1998, when they acquired Vince Carter through a draft day trade. They started setting league attendance records with NBA playoffs in the years 2000, 2001, and 2002. Thanks to Carter, the team advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals after winning their first playoff series in 2001. Carter was traded for Chris Bosch, as there was no significant progress in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons, but the team still struggled. 2006-07 season saw Bryan Colangelo appointed as the General Manager, who revamped the roster. The team qualifying for the first playoff berth in five years also won the first division title. There was a rage for Raptors Tickets, everyone wanted to watch the slam-dunk performance of the Raptors.

Community Service

The Raptors foundation assists Ontario’s registered charities that work towards sports initiatives for at-risk children and youth. They support local and provincial organizations to provide educational and recreational activities for the younger generations. They have raised more than $14 million since 1995.
